01 · Rebuild

Rebuild for the AI era.

Remove the architectural and data constraints that slow your business down. We modernize applications, cloud platforms, data and Oracle environments in steps, without a risky big-bang rewrite, and open them up safely to AI where it pays off.

Signs it's time to rebuild.

Modernization is worth doing when the system, not the business, sets the pace. These are the patterns we're usually called in for.

Every change needs a release train

Small changes take weeks of coordination, manual regression testing and weekend cutovers.

Knowledge lives in a few heads

The people who understand the system are retiring, leaving or stretched across too much.

Integrations fail quietly

Point-to-point connections and batch files break without anyone noticing until a report is wrong.

Data you can't reach or trust

Reports disagree, and every new question needs a new extract.

Run costs keep climbing

Licenses, infrastructure and support grow while the system does no more than before.

AI has nowhere to plug in

No clean APIs, no governed data, and no safe way for assistants or agents to act.

What we modernize.

Four areas, usually in combination. Three have a specialist page with more detail.

Applications

Client-server, Java and .NET systems moved to modern architecture, system by system.

  • Rehost, replatform, refactor or rearchitect, chosen per system
  • Step-by-step replacement around the old core
  • AI-assisted code analysis and documentation
  • Automated tests that lock in current behavior
Application modernization

Cloud and platforms

Cloud-native architecture where the business case is real, not by default.

  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Containers, infrastructure as code and CI/CD
  • Platform engineering and environments
  • Cost and reliability optimization

Data

One data platform your teams trust, and a safe path onto it.

  • Warehouse and lakehouse modernization
  • Migration with reconciliation built in
  • Pipelines, data quality and governance
  • Reporting and analytics
Data engineering

Oracle and integration

Oracle Cloud environments that are easier to change and connect.

  • Oracle Fusion HCM, ERP and SCM extensions
  • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
  • APEX applications that close ERP gaps
  • Secure APIs and governed AI access, including MCP where it fits
Oracle Cloud

How a modernization runs.

Typical shape of an engagement. Durations depend on the system; the Blueprint gives you real numbers before you commit to more.

  1. Blueprint3 to 4 weeks

We map the system, its dependencies, data flows and constraints, and agree the target architecture, including what to leave alone.

Outcome: Constraint map, target architecture and a phased, costed roadmap

  2. FoundationUsually the first 4 to 8 weeks

Environments, CI/CD, automated tests around current behavior, and monitoring, so that change becomes safer before anything moves.

Outcome: A safety net in place before the first cutover

  3. Move in incrementsRelease by release

Capability by capability, with old and new running side by side and data reconciled at every cutover.

Outcome: Working releases, each with a tested rollback or recovery plan

  4. Retire and runOngoing

We decommission what's been replaced, then hand over or keep operating and improving the new system.

Outcome: Lower run cost and a system that's easier to change

Where AI fits

AI reads the legacy. Architects decide the future.

AI makes modernization faster, especially on old, poorly documented code. It doesn't make the decisions.

AI accelerates
  • Reading and documenting legacy code
  • Mapping dependencies and data lineage
  • Generating tests that capture current behavior
  • Converting repetitive code and scripts
  • Drafting migration and reconciliation scripts
Architects decide
  • Target architecture and sequencing
  • Which systems not to modernize
  • Cutover and rollback plans
  • Security and data boundaries
  • Sign-off on every release

How we keep modernization safe.

The business keeps running while the system changes. These controls are part of every engagement, not optional extras.

  • Side-by-side running. Old and new run in parallel until each cutover is proven
  • Data reconciliation. Automated record and value checks at every migration step
  • Rollback and recovery. Every release has a tested rollback or a documented recovery plan, and we rehearse each cutover first
  • Behavior locked in. Tests capture what the system does today before we change it
  • Scoped access. Least-privilege accounts, named individuals, and access removed when the work ends
  • One accountable architect. A named senior architect owns every cutover decision

Ways to engage.

Start small and fixed, then commit to more only when the plan is clear. No open-ended hours as the main model.

Questions leaders ask about modernization.

Straight answers to what usually comes up in the first call.

Do we have to move to the cloud?

No. Some workloads belong in the cloud and some don't. The Blueprint compares options for each system on cost, risk and business value, and we're comfortable recommending that something stays where it is.

Will you rewrite everything?

Rarely. We prefer incremental, dependency-aware modernization: replacing parts step by step around the old core. Full rewrites are the riskiest option and only make sense in specific cases.

Our system is barely documented. Can you still work with it?

Yes. That's common. We use AI-assisted analysis to read the code, map dependencies and draft documentation, then validate it with your subject-matter experts.

How is it priced?

The Blueprint is a fixed fee. Delivery is priced per milestone where scope is defined, or monthly for an ongoing pod, measured on lead time, quality and cost. Ongoing operations are a monthly service with agreed service levels.

Who is on the team, and where?

A named US-facing lead and a senior architect accountable for decisions, with senior engineers in India. You get 2 to 4 hours of overlap with US working hours every day.

Do we need to be 'AI-ready'?

Only if it serves a business goal. AI readiness is an option we design for where it matters, such as clean APIs and governed data, not a mandatory add-on.

Who owns the code and documentation?

You own the code, designs, documentation and other deliverables we create for you, once they're paid for. Our pre-existing tools and products stay ours, and you get a perpetual license to any part of them built into your deliverables. The contract sets out the details.

Start with a Modernization Blueprint.

Three to four weeks, fixed scope, led by a senior architect. You keep the plan whether or not we do the work.

  • A map of your system's constraints and dependencies
  • Options for each component: keep, move, refactor or replace
  • A target architecture and phased roadmap
  • Cost, risk and timeline for each phase
  • Where AI fits, and where it doesn't
